Check Point has been made aware of security issues related to the FastMode service in
VPN-1/FireWall-1. All known issues related to this issue are fully addressed in VPN-1/FireWall-1
4.1 SP3 which is available for immediate download. Check Point recommends that all users of
VPN-1/FireWall-1 upgrade to the new release.
For those users not able to upgrade, an immediate workaround is available by disabling FastMode.
Note that FastMode is disabled by default.
For complete information on this issue and instructions for downloading 4.1 SP3,
please visit http://www.checkpoint.com/techsupport/alerts/index.html
Check Point Software wishes to acknowledge Thomas Lopatic of Dataprotect for bringing
this issue to our attention in a very positive and ethical manner.
