Let's not jump to conclusions.  It took a long time to log in on a
DecStation, and that wasn't a showstopper then.  I don't think human
physiology and nervous response has changed so much since then.

In any case, I would attribute a lot of this to the locker-oriented
nature of the current aui.  Certainly the real thing needs to move
into the release at some point.
