I think this be mostly because we've been habituated to look for the
close button on the right.  After using the interface for a while, I
got used to finding it on the left, and when I go back to Windows, am
sometimes annoyed that it's not there.  On the other hand, I do really
like not cursing at having accidentally closed when I meant to
maximize or somesuch.  8)
