At release team it was suggested that we are almost ready to go to
delivery, pending final approval by Bob Ferrara.

In reality, of course, we've been doing this work for months, and the
release team has made a fairly final decision to at least include the
gnome libs in 8.5 and replace mwm with sawfish. We'd also like to
replace dash with panel and include nautilus in the default startup
sequence, but those tasks can be severed (if we don't get them done in
time, if the outside products aren't ready in time, if it turns out to
slow down the standard login too much, if we decide the configuration
issues are too problematic). I'm particularly concerned about our
ability to integrate Nautilus, with its current dependency on some
very bleeding-edge Gnome stuff.
