So in theory, the problem with gmc is entirely fixable. But it's
obviously going to take more time to do so than I have right now.
However, Nautilus Preview Release 2 is out! It's much more usable and
stable than the previous release, and about 100 times better than
gmc. It is perhaps just barely stable enough to use during testing.
Even if it crashes once or twice, I think it might be better than
gmc.

Anyway, someone who has a little free time should play around with it
for maybe half an hour and get some feel for stability. We'll need to
specially install it on the test machine, though, unless someone
::gasp:: wants to suck it into the aui locker.

If the green light is given on it, I can perhaps muster the time up to
install Linux-Athena and Nautilus on the target machine in N42.

To download, see http://www.eazel.com/download/

(You'll need root access on the machine. It can be installed on a
machine that thinks it's in a public cluster, but only temporarily.
Basically, you just get a bunch of RPMs atuomatically downloaded and
installed.)

There, I feel better now. 8)
