Ok, for everyone's edification and sanity, I've reset the gtest
account, so it now has the current default dotfiles as of early Friday
morning, with the following exceptions.
Changes made that should be propagated:
- Add "from -n -t" to startup sequence
(Part of standard Athena startup)
- Add "(olc who &) >& /dev/null" to startup sequence
(Part of standard Athena startup)
- gnome-terminal:
- Change font size to 12 (Fixed misc)
- Change colors to black-on-white
- Keep panel menus in memory
(Performance boost)
- Disable esd
(Slated to be removed from release, causes errors and sound
problems)
Reflect changes needed in /usr/athena/lib/init:
- .cshrc.mine: set notify
(Decreases user confusion when job events happen)
- .cshrc.mine: set prompt="\n%c athena%% "
(Note: Leading \n may cause problems for console logins under
IRIX, or there may be a bug in the release; I have to do some
testing. Change suggested by Owls.)
Changes for testing purposes only:
- Bind middle mouse button to "lower"
(I'd like to see if anyone uses it.)
- Disable HOTDs
(Not ready yet.)
- get_message -new -zephyr
(GTK MOTDs not ready yet.)
- .environment: set skip_initial_xterm
(Prevents debugging xterm from appearing)
- .zephyr.vars:
fallback = true
expouse = net-announced
(So we can see if someone's logged in on the account.)
It still needs a working menu system, and the bugfixes I mentioned in
my previous mail.
-B.
