As promised, my (verbose) writeup is available at
http://web.mit.edu/aui/notebook/usability.html. Sorry I didn't have
it out sooner (I was out sick last week), but I hope you'll take the
time to review what I've written so we can make the most of our actual
facetime. 8)
Please view this as a first draft; this is the first chance I'm
getting for any sort of substantive peer review.
If you don't happen to have a lot of time and just want the bottom
line, skip to near the end and read "Testing Procedures." Back up if
you are asking yourself "where did that come from?" "what is the
justification for doing this?" Starting at the beginning should give
you the complete thought process from clearly identifying the original
problems to our precise data-collection techniques.
Once again, the meeting is at 2pm on Wednesday, August 9, in W92-208
(Haymarket).
I'll bring handouts of the important bits for reference.
Thanks all,
Beland
