This is likely what we will do. One issue is that I want to be able to
send people both aui-beta messages (ie: "A new default panel
configuration is available, to try it out run 'aui-beta-nuke-panel' at
the athena prompt") as well as the standard athena messages.

whatever, this is an eminently solvable problem and the threatened
flamewar is really unneccessary.
