It turns out that db2 is not any longer incompatible with the GPL,
because since Berkeley rescinded the advertising clause in their code,
you're left with "GPLish + MITish + MITish + you can negotiate for
better terms", and that's GPL compatible.
Stallman has apparently specifically blessed it, for people who still
weren't convinced.
In unrelated news, if you'd like another
clueful-in-both-Athena-and-GNOME lurker on the list, Maciej
(mjs@eazel.com) says you can add him.
