I think it would be cool if we could reduce the Solaris srvd size a
lot by using gnu ld.
On the other hand, the size of the source tree also matters, and
third/binutils is a hefty 32MB. The ld subdirectory is just 3MB, and
it has its own configure script. Perhaps we could try importing just
ld and see if that builds okay on its own?
