I do.  But I had a secondary goal of flushing out all the uncommitted 
changes people had left lying around in /mit/debathena/packages (and find 
out anything currently missing in the /mit/debathena/packages layout), 
which wouldn't have been accomplished if I worked in a separate checkout.

Using git-svn would have been nice for allowing me to correct mistakes 
without having extra commits fixing them.
