Looks good.
I'd put a little more information in the subject line; perhaps "new
/mit automounter features".
"for manipulating read-write AFS volumes" isn't quite right, since
read-write volumes are the common case and the complication comes when
read-only volumes enter in. Perhaps "replicated AFS volumes".
You might consider also putting more or less this explanation either
on http://debathena or in a man page or somesuch and mentioning it
here, so that people can be pointed to it later.
