I've already diverted lightdm's session wrapper the same way we did to
gdm, and with the changes to reactivate in r25536, it's now mostly
functional, with some remaining problems:
* /etc/resolv.conf is empty inside the chroot. This sure looks like
[LP:54867], because that problem goes away if /etc/resolv.conf (outside
the chroot) is not a symlink. Not sure how to fix this.
* logins take 30 seconds (I suspect some of this is due to D-Bus problems)
* The shutdown menu is empty (again, this feels like D-Bus).
