In modern sudo, the prompt is clear about which password it=E2=80=99s askin=
g for:
[sudo] password for andersk:
[sudo] password for root:
The gksu/gksudo prompt is less clear. For most administrative utilities,=
=20
gksu has been phased out in favor of PolicyKit (which does provide a clear=
=20
prompt), but this is still a concern for synaptic.
By the way, the PolicyKit configuration, /etc/PolicyKit/PolicyKit.conf, is=
=20
totally independent of sudo and should also be considered in this=20
discussion.
