Sorry about that. It looks like I misjudged the magnitude of this change;=

I felt like the easiest way to understand what the code does is to=20
actually run it, so I wanted to be able to build this package and put it=20
in the beta repository. I do agree with your concerns about process, so I=
=20
have not uploaded the package and I'm going to figure out something=20
different to do for some forthcoming changes to the greeter etc. on the=20
same scale.

I'd be happier if you let the discussion play out, though; I made these=20
changes because I was pretty sure they were the only good option, and=20
should that turn out not to be the case I was planning on reverting them.

(I hate to blame tools, but it's also relevant that I didn't want these=20
changes floating around uncommitted during discussion; I might figure out=
=20
something with git-svn that removes that worry.)
