I was looking over IS&T's TSM documentation for a server I'm thinking
about backing up, and noticed that the Linux distributions we claim to
support are as follows:
Operating System: (* - supported by Tivoli, ** - supported by IS&T)
*SLES 9
*SLES 10, 10.1
**Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4 (AS,WS,ES)
**Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5 (Client, Server)
*Asianux 2.0
Note: IS&T is planning support for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5 (AS,WS,ES).
Since TSM is recommended to students, I think it's very important that
IS&T be supporting it on the platform we're about to recommend that
students install on their computers with Athena 10. Some conversation
on zephyr indicates that it probably works, but that release-team should
check this out. Then we should try to get the support to be official
as soon as possible.
