In about six weeks, we want to have an Athena 10 "preview" release
available. Here are the feature items slated to be implemented by
then, with approximate amounts of work:
* Pine (one week)
* OpenAFS metapackages (one week)
* Emacs site customizations (one day)
* Locker software desktop items (1-2 days)
* Moira client resolution and packaging (2 days)
* Time synchronization via NTP against time.mit.edu (1 day)
* Rebrand gdm for Athena 10 without rebranding it for SIPB Debathena (1-2 days)
More significantly, we have some project infrastructure tasks:
* Automatic rebuilds and uploads of OpenAFS modules (one week)
* Automatic rebuilds and uploads of debathenificator packages (one week)
* HTTP server for apt repository (simple, but gating on ops backlog)
* Flesh out install script (1-2 days)
* Documentation (a la what's on debathena.mit.edu) and support training
A few items disappeared from the backlog for this because they aren't
required for a preview release targeted at private machines:
* Taking automatic updates
* Clusterinfo handling
* Cluster software package set (also marked as Done)
