Hi Lizhou!

I'm glad you're interested in Debathena. Here are a few things that
you may find interesting to get started. I recommend setting up a VM
with Debian Testing and a recent (either the most recent or most
recent LTS) Ubuntu. Once you have those, take a look at

https://wiki.debian.org/IntroDebianPackaging
https://wiki.debian.org/sbuild

You can use check out a Debathena package by cloning the git repo from
github.com/mit-athena. Fork it into your own account and upload your
changes as a pull request.

You can build the package by running "git buildpackage" if you have
git-buildpackage installed (which I highly recommend doing).

An interesting bug to get started out with, as per our in-person
conversation, is http://athena10.mit.edu/trac/ticket/962

You should also subscribe to -c debathena on zephyr. Most of our
development discussion happens there. You can easily get onto zephyr
via roost.mit.edu (or the beta, shinier roost-test.mit.edu). More
information on zephyr is at https://sipb.mit.edu/doc/zephyr/

Let us know if you need anything else to get started!

Sincerely,
-Alex
