Comment:
We should revisit this for cluster machines, because it would make things
a lot faster. I'll double-check that this is feasible from a licensing
perspective.
CMU has packaging (http://source.fac.cs.cmu.edu/gitweb/?p=fac/matlab.git).
They solve this by putting all the licensed software in a section
(multiverse, for example) and ACL the pool/ directory for it. So it's
listed in the Release files, but actually downloading the .deb fails if
you're off campus. Last time, that was determined to be Wrong(tm) and
Unacceptable(tm). I'm going to propose it again, and decide that it's
totally fine, provided we create a new metapackage that pulls it in
(debathena-mit-campus-only-software-no-really-do-not-install-this-off-
campus).
