While the RAM disks are now up to at least 2GB on most systems (and 2GB is
still a de-facto file size limit because FAT), we still occasionally here
that there's not a ton of scratch space. We should consider, at login
time, creating /scratch/$USER with the appropriate permissions, bind-
mounting it RW, and then nuking it at logout.
