Ops wants to move athena10.mit.edu from its current instantiation as a
Xen virtual machine to the magic OC11 VMware farm, which will need about
an hour of downtime. I've asked for it to be done some morning next
week. For the duration of the outage this will break:
- client machine updates vs. our repo (of which there won't be any)
- builds and uploads against the athena10 repo
- new Athena 10 (but not debathena) installs
The first two aren't a big deal; the third shouldn't have a huge impact
but might generate a random support query or two.
I've asked for ops to send mail to athena10@mit.edu with specifics once
they coordinate an exact plan with netops. (The latter so that we can
have a coincident DNS update.)
