Subject: next6.mit.edu reverted to Athena 9
Because next6 (the rightmost machine in the cluster near Next Desk) has various
troubles printing, and also crashes entirely too often, I'm rolling it back
from the Athena 10 preview beta demo alpha prerelease to Athena 9 (like the
other machines in the cluster) until it's less of a preview beta demo alpha
prerelease. I know what needs to be done and I was hoping I'd have time to do
so last week, but I didn't and I'm now a bit behind on schoolwork, and I don't
want you to fight with a machine with known and fixable bugs. Hopefully we'll
be able to resume this experiment soon.
Thanks to those of you who have sent in comments about other issues; most of
them are in the Athena 10 our bugtracker.
