The project team met on 1/26/95.
1. We reviewed the quote received from Oracle for the dbms software.
Tim will talk to Susan about whether we should simply cut a P.O.
and send it back.
When we receive the software, it will be installed on the SPARC5
that Diane is due to have installed in her office soon. We will
augment that workstation with memory/disks as needed after we
get the ws & dbms software on site.
Diane has started coding some of the Master component's modules.
2. We reviewed the discussion of ADSM as a potential 3rd party sw
product for this project. We all agreed that it does not handle
AFS well, and is not a good fit. We will not pursue ADSM further
at this time.
3. We reviewed the situation of the Tape Slave design that Jonathon's
been doing. Diane will work with Jonathon to develop at least a
DRAFT outline of the design document by next week, with the hope
of getting a DRAFT design document by the end of February. The
error handling work is an integral part of that document, and
a good bit of work has already gone into that over the last couple
of weeks.
4. Anne reported that she has started to review the documentation
that recently arrived on the tape stacker.
Next meeting is 2/2 at 4 pm in the normal place.
