Hi,
I've started creating some programs/scripts which extract statistics
from the ABS Oracle database. These programs provide the DBA
information about space usage, fragmentation, and other useful info
which indicate whether it's time to perform preventive maintenance on
the database.
The intent is that when we reach Beta/production we would actually run
these automatically every week and mail would be sent to some
"abs-dba" mailing list.
If people think this is a good idea, I'd like to actually start
running the automated statistics collection on the development
database soon and have the result go to some of the people
on this list so that we can become familiar with the statistics
and how to interpret them before we go to Beta.
So does this sound useful? If so, who should be getting these
automated reports (besides me)?
