Bill,

I heard some stuff from Matt Braun that you guys were working on a new
backup system but I got the impression that it was still pretty far in
the future. I'm glad to hear that it may not be so far away.

I would be interested in taking a look at the design/requirements docs
and see how well it fits our needs. Assuming the docs look good, I'd
be interested in trying it out (though we would need to get Oracle).

By the way, your message comes at a good time, I'm looking into a
replacement for our AFS backup system. The front runner currently is
Alexandria. It seems to have a good tape management and scheduling
system and it is my belief that working in AFS would be fairly
trivial.
