What do we do if the slave has data and the master stays down, or a
fake master comes up?
maybe have the slave try to send results that had been cached to disk
at certain times.
retry when slave boots and registers as up with the master.
req's for cripple mode
1) cripple master must be able to collect and save data from slaves
that is sent at registration time
2) that data must be saved in a format such that it can easily be
put into the db.
what about switching masters mid-stream? HUP re-reads the conf file.
Diane will write up siomething and show it to the group.
