Review of "Cleanly"
In the event of a disk failure, follow the Procedures documented
Oracle Systems Administrator's guide for system recovery.
NOTE: It is a configuration requirement that Oracle operate in
"Archive Log" Mode for this recovery to restore up to the
the last committed transaction, rather than the last full
backup of the Oracle Database.
In the event of a failure of the Master, or a reboot of the
machine on which the Master resides, the database restarts
only after intervention of a Database Administrator. The
administrator needs to verify that the integrity checks are
present and to fix any inconsistency flagged by Oracle.
While the master is offline, any needed dumps and restores occur
through the "Crippled Mode".
The "Cleanly Issue" is closed when the above is added to the
requirements doc.
Code Review:
afs_connect
setup_auth_vldb_connection
afs_restore
ABS_restoreFunc
* wdc will get more external review of requirements
Next milestone:
turn requirements into test plan items.
Note: we are doing things in the wrong order, unit tests should
have been designed before interfaces.
We will focus on tests relevant to system acceptance testing.
Document Review -- Overview Doc.
Next Week: Meeting is 1:00 to 3:00
We will review more of the Overview Doc sections 6-11.
Diane hands out new code.
wdc brings in tentative schedule for remaining milestones.
Prioritization:
Crippled Mode design is more important than updating the overview
document.
