Here is the summary of the tape verification discussion.

Tape verifcation will be supported. There are 3 modes:

NONE - do not perform any verification

QUICK - verify label, a few volume headers in the middle of the
           tape and verify footer.

FULL - Verify label, all volume headers, and footer. Additionally,
generate checksums for each volume during tape write
         and verify checksums.

The verification process will be performed by the Media Slave after
it has completed writing to a tape and before it sends its job
completion information to the Master.

The verification operation will be configurable by dumpset and
by media pool.

   * if the verification flags for a dumpset conflict with those
defined for its media pool, then the Master will use the
higher of the two verification levels.

The backup operation which is part of the Master API will also
support specification of the verification level which will
override the verification levels maintained in the pool and
dumpset tables.

The GUI client will ensure that when it presents the backup
operational screen to the client that the default value for
the verification level reflects the default value set in
the ABS database.
