Subject: AFS over NSFnet: status report
Well, our NSFnet connection seems to have stabilized today, and we were able to
contact a few of your servers. Actually, it seemed to work remarkably well;
the connections were stable and performance looked to be fine, at least when
simply bopping around your areas. We tried running some zephyr stuff (after
adding some services to our /etc/services file); some of the programs worked,
although others seemed to *really* want us to be Kerberos authenticated.
Anyway, I just wanted to say thanks for helping get this system so far so fast.
We have some other features we want to add before we actually release a config
file announcing your cell (to minimize the load we can put on you folks). I'll
keep you folks posted....
Thanks,
Mike
