Errors with 5.5 zwgc

What do the following errors mean :
Bad source value for 'String' to 'Color' conversion.
Bad source value for 'String' to 'Pixel' conversion.
Bad source value for 'String' to 'Color' conversion.
Bad source value for 'String' to 'Pixel' conversion.
I get this on a Vaxstation 200 running 5.5. This error is shown
everytime a windowgram comes in. The only changes that I have made are
to my .windowgram (a soft link to .zephyr.desc) but cannot seem to find
any error there.
When using the same .zephyr.desc on a 6.0c machine, it works fine. I
also tried starting zephyr with -nofork so and text messages are display
on my window but everything seemed to be fine. Any comments??
