We need to pin down more closely what we mean by "formatting?" Do
I want this word to be *emphasized*, or bold, or -adobe-times-bold-...?
The sender (human or otherwise) should be able to say "This is
important," with whatever interface is most intuitive to that user
(I sometimes still hit ^P-b for boldface), and the recipient should
be able ot define what that means.
Generalized Markup, not Page Formatting.
