I like the idea.

This expands easily to multi-realm, with the realm being the first
component of the field.  "ATHENA.MIT.EDU:message.consult" is what I
send to with "zwrite -i consult".  If I want to talk to the LCS
consult instance, I would write to "LCS.MIT.EDU:message.consult".
