Well, the described suggested implementation for inter-realm stuff
suggested that when a message is displayed, the full realm will be
displayed as part of the sender field.

I pointed out that it would be a bad thing to always have the realm
displayed, even when the message is from the local realm.

I wasn't talking about anything as specific as what $sender and
$fullsender (which, by the way, I'd never heard of until you mentioned
it) do, but rather general ideas about what the implementation of
inter-realm messages will involve.

I definitely think it will be a win if the zwgc client filters out the
realm automatically when it is the same as the receiver realm, but
leaves it in $sender when the realm is different.
