Subject: Not using zlogout

To the authors of the Zephyr Notification System:
Here is a suggestion to eliminate the need for zflush, and to elimintae
zlogin entries from remaining, when a logout was performed abnormally:
(i.e. the modem connection died, the machine crashes, or you logout out
without zlogout, etc.)
Zlogin could start up a background process which updated the zephyr entry,
say every ten minutes, by setting some flag.
The zephyr server could have a process running which resets all the flags
every twenty minutes. If a flag is already reset, the entry should be
"zlogged" out.
This guarantees that anyone really logged out will be removed from the
database within 40 minutes.
The times 10 min and 20 min can be adjusted.
Just a thought because 'zlocate' loses its effectiveness when you see
someone logged in 7 hours ago, and you are unsure if he is really logged
in.
