   I've had this argument with Jerry before.  His point was, just because
   Unix "finger" gives certain information to other users doesn't mean
   that it *should*.

It should be noted that several places have removed or disabled fingerd,
even before the November virus, precisely because of privacy problems.
I believe that BBN was an example where they did turn finger on at least
some of their hosts.
