It would be quite useful if there was a way to set zwgc variables at the
time that zwgc is started or restarted (say with wg_read). This way,
one could have a single description file that could have slightly different
behavior under different circumstances (e.g. to beep or not to beep on
incomming messages).
Since it looks at .zephyr.vars (for exposure), it would seem to make
sense that it could incorporate the other variables in this file. Then,
the zctl "set" command could be used to alter behavior of the .zephyr.desc
file.

p.s. I actually attempted to make thing work this way, thinking it was
natural. Sigh....
