need help compiling zephyr

hi,
i grabbed the latest zephyr sources (zephyr.src.snap.950103)
and tried to compile for my network at lcs. however, i don't
get very far. the instop doc is way out of date, there's no
config.Imakefile in the distribution, and we're not in the
Athena file system so i don't have the normal Athena imake
stuff. to make matters worse, i'm not expert enough with imake
to know what i need to do to make things work. i'm thinking
all i need is the config.Imakefile, but i'm not sure.
can you give me some advice about how to compile this in
a non-Athena environment?
any help would be appreciated,
