Hi,
I'm trying to install Zephyr 0.2 on Sun Sparcstations running
SUNOS 4.1.1. I ran into a problem, and hope you can help me.
Zephyr built successfully, without errors (I'm using it
UNAUTHENTICATED), but I noticed a failure in delivering messages of
any class other than Message.
I believe that I set up the acls for the class correctly, and
had all of them contain "*.*@*" so that is not a problem.
When I sent myself a message of any other class, zwgc dumps core,
and dies. After preliminary investigations, I find the core dump is
caused by the Attempt to display the PING message sent before the
actual message is sent. The internal "rope" data structure that
is used to store the parsed result of the message seems to contain
a NULL pointer that the program is trying to reference into.
The znol program does not work either. (I assume this is because
it uses a class LOGIN, instead of personal.)
Has this bug been reported earlier, and is there an easy fix for it. ??
If there is a NEWER version of Zephyr which fixes this problem, I'll be
glad to try and build it on our platforms.
The Zbrowser program that came as part of the package is an X11R3
client, and a port to X11R4 or X11R5 seems quite tedious, as it seems
to have used some features of R3 that are since obsolete. Has the
port already been performed at AThena, and if so, are the sources
available ??
Thanks in advance for you help. I look forward to hearing from you.
