t r u t h o u t | The neoliberal free trade movement is building a global infrastructure that will supersede national, state and local laws. International tribunals are increasingly arbitrating trade agreements on behalf of corporate profits, resulting in findings that effectively nullify environmental protections, public health measures, food security and labor rights.
You will not read much about this ominous trend in mainstream media outlets owned by corporations. Indeed, for-profit media is actively complicit: pressuring for increased copyright protection in so-called free trade agreements and excessive punishments for violations.
