oking at ways to improve. Truthout is no different.
When we look at ways to improve Truthout, however, we don't chase trends or=
try to copy other sites. Of course we look at best practices, and we find =
inspiration in the best work being done elsewhere. We don't rest on our lau=
rels.
But what we strive for is to consistently do a better job of fulfilling our=
mission and living up to our values: the same values you share. Our ultima=
te goal is to make Truthout more, well... Truthout-like.
What allows us to maintain this unique identity that we have created?
The answer is you. If we couldn't rely on our readers - if we ran advertise=
ments that clashed with our principles, or if we didn't print a story becau=
se a corporate sponsor didn't approve - we wouldn't be Truthout anymore.
We have big plans for 2014, but they depend on you, too. If you make a tax-=
