KT 74 ADS-B COMPLIANT TRANSPONDER
The KT 74, a new Mode S transponder intended to help pilots prepare
for the upcoming 2020 Automatic Dependent Surveillance-Broadcast
(ADS-B) Out mandate by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) as
well as the EASE, CASA and Canadian mandates. The KT 74 is ADS-B
compliant with all 1090 ADS-B Out mandates (when coupled to an
appropriate GPS source), enabling aircraft to transmit their
location, altitude and other critical in-flight information to other
nearby aircraft and to air traffic control. It will serve as a
slide-in replacement for the KT 76A/C and KT 78A. The KT 74 has been
styled to match the new generation of Bendix/King avionics and
provides an intuitive user interface. Pilots simply enter their
assigned squawk code into the unit with the push of four buttons,
while VFR and emergency squawk codes can be directly entered with the
touch of one button. Flight ID entry is also supported. The KT
74 allows owner and operators to incrementally update their cockpits
for the ADS-B upgrade, increasing overall cost savings.
Key features include: • Retrofit plug-and-play installation for
KT 76A/C and KT 78A transponders • Low-cost solution that will
offset future costs (immediate slide-in installation today, upgrade
to ADS-B in the future) • Low power consumption • ETSO and
TSO approved Mode S • Accurate readings with updates every few
seconds • Meets mandated ADS-B requirements for the U.S.,
Europe, Australia and other regions • Meets European mandate for
Elementary Surveillance (ELS)• Available to ship from Vista
Aviation today!. It will have a list price of $2,999.• Call
Vista Aviation for best price.
The KLR 10 Lift Reserve Indicator for experimental aircraft enhances
safety and performance by providing visual and audible cues of
remaining lift. The KLR 10 Lift Reserve Indicator for aircraft
in the experimental category is available immediately. The KLR 10
provides intuitive visual cues of available lift in a compact,
stylish, glare shield-mounted indicator, as well as spoken angle of
attack (AOA) warnings when connected to the aircraft’s audio
panel.
The KLR 10 improves operational safety by increasing pilot awareness
of remaining lift during phases of flight with high angles of attack
such as takeoff, approach and landing, which account for the majority
of preventable loss-of-control accidents. While indicated stall speed
will vary with aircraft weight, angle of bank, density altitude and
other factors, the AOA at which the aircraft will stall in a specific
configuration remains constant. AOA has been used by the military and
commercial carriers for decades as the most reliable indicator of
aircraft lift remaining. Now, the KLR 10 offers general aviation
pilots that same AOA awareness technology in an easy-to-install,
affordable product.
About the KLR 10
The KLR 10 is currently only available for installation in
experimental aircraft. MSRP is $1,600. The KLR 10’s main
features are:
• Low cost and lightweight • Easy installation, replaces an
existing wing inspection plate, no need to drill holes in the wing
• Includes an intuitive, compact 2-inch indicator, which can be
mounted in the pilot’s primary field of vision •
Compelling aural and visual alerts of high AOA to allow for timely
corrective action • Enhanced awareness of lift reserve in all
phases of flight provides guidance for more stable approaches and
smoother landings • Call Vista Aviation for best price.
