t r u t h o u t | What makes Truthout different from other sites like us?
In some ways it's a good question. But for me, it's also an easy one to ans=
wer. Here's the thing: I don't actually think there are any other sites qui=
te like Truthout.
I read a lot of other news and commentary online, as I'm sure many of you d=
o, and there are plenty of websites I enjoy, that I bookmark and return to =
regularly. But Truthout stands out.
We're not afraid to publish stories that highlight issues that are being ig=
nored - and we're not motivated purely by trying to get the most clicks. We=
take a stand: we publish a range of views that reflect differing philosoph=
ies, but you shouldn't expect to find our contributors defending mass gover=
nment surveillance or cuts to the social safety net. We're unashamed of our=
politics and unapologetic about our willingness to be intellectual.
Maintaining something this unique is not easy. It depends on YOU.
