t r u t h o u t | What connects the fight for press freedom and government =
transparency, the dangers arising from nuclear power and fossil fuels, the =
need for a better approach to healthcare, and the awful truth about the rea=
lities of war?
These are just some of the subjects which Truthout has covered in the past =
month. Tying them all together is a pretty big overarching question: How ca=
n human beings avert the biggest threats to our species and build better so=
cieties?
We believe that independent, people-powered media has a crucial role to pla=
y in answering this question. That's an ambitious mission, one that our sta=
ff works tirelessly to achieve.
The answers aren't going to come quickly or easily, so we want to be around=
for the long haul. But whether Truthout is still here in a few years, or e=
ven a few months, depends on you. We urgently need to raise almost $25,000 =
