t r u t h o u t | Anger seems to be everywhere: in catastrophic outbursts of nature due to accelerating climate change; in mass shootings that numb us with their regularity; and in selfish sanctimonious opposition to healthcare for all Americans.
This isn't the justified anger of those who have long been oppressed. The earth appears to be bursting with a confused rage in which long-term solutions are sacrificed to short-term greed. As a result, the challenges that face a planet of seven billion people become compounded.
Truthout cannot offer a magic wand. We cannot assuage the pain of the moment with reassuring bromides. What we can offer is a refuge, a place where dogma is challenged and bold solutions are proposed.
