How Truthout Helped Stop a War

Part of what keeps me optimistic about winning in the long struggle to reform US foreign policy is that I know I can rely on Truthout to help get crucial information out to the public.
The mainstream media were late to the story of massive public and Congressional opposition to the proposed US bombing of Syria. They were too busy reporting what anonymous government officials said. But Truthout was on top of the story of public and Congressional opposition right away. I wrote some of those pieces. I know many Americans learned about the growing public and Congressional opposition to the war because they read Truthout.
Courage is contagious, as Edward Snowden said. If you know other people are speaking up, you're more likely to speak up.
This remains of the highest importance as scaremongering over Iran's nuclear program continues. Truthout helps us offer alternatives to war and international aggression, but it can only be done with your help.
