ecisions is still in the air and we rejoice at the progress. But a wide spe=
ctrum of LGBT people still face discrimination at work and violence on the =
street. We have to write on.
An emboldened and noisy "feminist army" in Texas managed to stop the passag=
e of Senate Bill 5, and we are all still celebrating their pluck and guts. =
But Gov. Rick Perry and his anti-choice - let's face it, anti-woman - allie=
s are doubling down and getting ready to force the legislation through agai=
n. We have to write on.
Immigration reform may provide a path to citizenship for many, but the Sena=
te bill still includes far too much militarization of the border - so we ha=
ve to write on.
Writing on is what we do at Truthout, so people can see that these struggle=
s for justice are unfinished. Any hope of progress will depend in part on s=
preading the word about the reality of injustice and the work being done to=
fight it.
