t r u t h o u t | I found Truthout when I was in high school, just as the Bush administration was twisting our national sorrow and pain into a call for war. Truthout was a beacon of sanity amid the propaganda and fear. It provided a much-needed counterpoint for the half-truths and doublespeak that came out of the TVs and radios in the small town that I grew up in. I don't know what I would have done without it.
There are many others in the same place that I was in 12 years ago: They're counting on us. But without your support, Truthout won't be there for future generations of young people who are in desperate need of real news, like I was.
Now I'm here at Truthout with some of the very same reporters that I read in high school - it's pretty awesome! I work behind the scenes helping to keep that beacon going, because the flow of propaganda from the mainstream media hasn't lessened at all.
Please - will you help ensure that Truthout can continue to counter that propaganda? It's vital that we raise more than $31,000 by the end of Thursday, and every donation counts.
