t's Academy Awards, one of the cruelest was this: Even the live Oscars audi=
ence was reportedly bombarded with advertisements during the commercial bre=
aks.
If you hate ads and how they seem to be everywhere these days, you probably=
appreciate the fact that Truthout is ad-free. (Aside from avoiding commerc=
ial overload, this allows us to give you the real scoop instead of corporat=
e blather.) But in order for us to keep it that way, and still survive, we =
need your help.
Our first fundraiser of the year didn't quite reach its target, and this mo=
nth's has started slowly. We need to raise over $38,000 by the end of Febru=
ary - if you've been thinking of giving, now is the time to join in. Please=
