Truthout, it means telling the stories that would otherwise go untold.
Stories like Thom Hartmann's provocative account of how and why the Second =
Amendment was ratified, or the stories of the 1.4 million immigrants and co=
unting deported since 2008. The stories of the First Nations people who are=
drawing a line against the theft and despoiling of their land by declaring=
themselves "Idle No More."
We tell the stories of detainees languishing unjustly at Guantanamo, and th=
e story of Adnan Latif, who died there. (Truthout's Jason Leopold is at Gua=
ntanamo Bay right now, continuing his coverage firsthand.)
These are not stories that corporate advertisers want you to hear. What ena=
