Don't tell, but I am totally smitten with Truthout's writers. Every day I f=
all in love again =E2=80=93 with their commitment, their integrity, their t=
alent, their passion for justice, their dispassion in service to the truth,=
their raw talent, their disciplined deployment of craft, their amazing sto=
ries.
We talk around here about bad news fatigue and how to avoid it =E2=80=93 a =
necessary skill for those who spend most of their waking hours mired in the=
muck of the truth about these grim days. For me, the secret to evading des=
pair is falling in love, every day, with the latest story that through pers=
istence and percipience, fact-finding and art makes its way onto my clipboa=
rd and into my heart. Falling for the story writers who believe their writi=
ng will have an impact, if only the impact of bearing witness. But in order=
to keep making an impact, we need your help.
The engine that drives the whole show is love =E2=80=93 love of justice, lo=
ve for one another, love for the possibility of a world that embodies justi=
ce and amplifies the authenticity of our connections. Right now, we need yo=
u to come together with us, to keep this labor of love going. Truthout has =
